On Lj, Nano and Jetlag
First of all I am officially settled back into the UK now. Had a few days of terrible jet lag which is actually pretty new for me, it's usually not that bad, but it was such a busy weekend right after I arrived that it seemed to throw me off. The other night I tried for SEVEN HOURS to fall asleep and finally drifted off sometime around 7 am then slept all day which was not good. Today I got up at 10, so we have progress.
It's November 1st so that means Nano has started along with the writing frenzy that comes with it. I got a solid 1250 words in at midnight last night and I'm going to a write-in tonight so I should be off to a strong start. This year I've chosen to carry on with a few WIP's rather than start anything new. They're all fanfiction - something for DW (Shakespeareverse), something for Sherlock, something for Harry Potter and something for Once Upon a Time. To start with I'm focusing on the HP one, but I will switch if I finish it or if I get stuck. Nano this year is all about completion for me.
It seems that a good portion of my flist is now considering jumping ship from LJ thanks to it's recent f*$%ery with the friends page. LJ has been my home for nearly 10 years (under another name prior to this one and then here) so I'm reluctant to leave myself, but if that many people go I may follow. Either way I think it's time for me to at least copy my lj to the Dreamwidth account I made over there ages ago and to try to recreate as much of my lj flist over there as I can. I'll still post here for the time being but I'll probably start to cross post and if there really is a mass exodus then I will consider switching over there permanently.
