Analyze and post your top 10 fics by hitcount.

I migrated/copied all my fic to AO3 last summer, initially as a backup, but I've come to really like it and I use it a lot now and I actually read from there more than anywhere else now (partly because it's so easy to download and read stories on an ebook reader and I read a lot on transit so it means I read more fic, which YAY).

So, anyway, I currently have 61 fics on AO3!!! Admittedly, a bunch of them are the drabbles I wrote in December this year, and some are short little yuletide things I wrote in my non-dominant fandoms, but still that's a lot more than I was expecting. Anyway analyzing my top 10 in hitcount was interesting to me.

1. Snow Deep Once Upon a Time, Rated G; Emma/Regina, Emma + Regina + Mary Margaret + Henry; 497 hits
2. The Purple Spike The Sarah Jane Adventures, Rated G; Sarah Jane + Luke + Rani + Sky + Clyde + Maria + The Doctor; 351 hits
3. Always Downton Abbey, Rated G; Cora/Sarah O'Brien, Cora + Sarah; 109 hits
4. Not This Time Scarecrow and Mrs King, Rated G; Amanda/Lee, Amanda, + Lee; 93 hits
5. Stolen Hearts Gilmore Girls, Rated G; Luke/Lorelai, Lorelai + Luke + Rory; 80 hits
6. Then and Now Gilmore Girls, Rated E; Luke/Lorelai, Lorelai + Luke + Rory; 73 hits
7. Jackets, Ties and Memories Scarecrow and Mrs King, Rated G; Amanda/Lee, Lee + Amanda; 73 hits
8. Coffee Community, Rated G; Troy/Abed, Troy + Abed; 72 hits
9. Kitten The Big Bang Theory, Rated G; Sheldon/Amy; Sheldon + Amy; 59 hits
10. Where Are You Roaming? Doctor Who, Rated G; Rose/Doctor; Rose + TenII + Jackie + Pete + OC; 56 hits

What I find really interesting about this:

- Only 3 out of the 10 are fics in the 2 fandoms I am most prolific in (Gilmore Girls and Doctor Who)
- The very first fic I ever wrote (#5 in case you're wondering) is in the list
- 3 of the stories in this list are only 300 words or less
- only 1 out of the 10 has a rating above G/PG
- the top 2 were both written for Yuletide in December 2011
- half of these were written for other people and based on prompts
- 7 of these fics are in fandoms I don't normally write in
- it is the second part of Shakespeareverse (my big DW series for those who may not know) and not the first that made this list (although the first part is right after it with 55 hits so not as interesting as it could be)

I notice too that a lot of these are my more recent stories that have been posted so I wonder how much that's affected what people have read. I'm thinking too that fandoms like Once Upon a Time and such are more current and active at the moment so I figure that's affecting things as well. Plus I haven't even had my stuff up on AO3 for a full year yet so I'm sure that makes a difference. I'm almost curious enough to go to FF.net and check my stats there for comparison. Although I don't think some of my more recent stuff is on there yet and I've been on it since I started writing fan fiction so it's likely that the results will much more heavily favor my Doctor Who and Gilmore Girls stuff. Still, it would be interesting to see what the difference is.
