I'm a big Denver Broncos fan, so I joined Meetup.com and found a DC group of people who like the Denver Broncos as well and went and watched the game with them yesterday. It was awesome.

So ... places like meetup.com can be a good resource to finding people in your area with similar interests.

I've looked up a couple of groups on meetup.com which seems kind of cool, but then I look at past events from the groups that might interest me and see "0 members attended" "1 members attended" and it's kind of discouraging. Also there seem to be VERY VERY few people my age actually on that thing in my area :(

Ah, well that is an issue. Are there any big cities nearby that you could go to?

New "dumb" York is about an hour drive, hour and a half train ride - not really within "come hang out and watch Terminator 2 with us" distance unfortunately

We live in a town... There are a couple close by. There is some stuff to do, just not sure how to connect with people.
