You know the guy with the robotic beer launcher? That's my brother. He's been all over the news lately (Leno, Fox News, The Colbert Report, etc.) but I think his 15 minutes are coming to an end, which is good because the media calls have been sort of annoying for everyone. It was really cool while it lasted though ( Read more... )

I can't talk to David over the phone or AIM at all. Its just so completely different it's weird.

I've been skipping that beer tossing article all week.. ahaha that's pretty funny... and LOUD! However, I don't know if I'd trust it in the hands of a NASCAR watching alcoholic...

I'm glad someone else experiences this. Pete and I used to talk in AIM a lot and we were fine, but he never uses it anymore. We see one another every day and always have something to talk about, but whenever I go home for a week or so, he'll call me every day and we'll barely say anything. I don't know why he bothers calling me at all.

I used to have a boyfriend who was just absolutely horrible to talk to on the phone...

Me: Hey what's happening!
Him: ...uh... (THREE MINUTES OF SILENCE)
Me: ...? Well, there was a new Simpsons on this Sunday
Him: Oh yeah! .... ..... ..... .............. ......
Me: ???!?

And so on. A 30 minute conversation would be 90% silent... o_O

No fucking way! When I saw him on Fox News the other day I saw the last name and was thinking about how your brother made you a little robot and thought about how it would be funny if you actually were related to this guy. Is that the same one?

My mom will either go "NO WAI!!11!!1" when I tell her that, or "Why haven't you made anything cool like that yet?"

I once dated a guy that was really terrible talking on the phone. You may have met him at a faux t-giving. It was really annoying where he'd maybe tell me something like..

Him:"Have you ever heard of something really really obscure that isn't actually all that good?"
Me: "No"
Him: "Oh, well its really good."
Long silence before he repeats the same thing with different obscurity

He is a sweet guy but I never liked talking on the phone with him. I'd sometimes count how long it would be before he'd say anything else, but I'd usually lose count. I should've wore a watch.

I don't think I met your guy at T-giving :( But I'm also assuming you're not dating him anymore... Was he cool in person at least?

He is a really sweet guy, and we're still pretty good friends, but after about a month of dating him I was going insane. He still comes to Faux T-Giving xxxTravaganza 200x / christmas parties so thats why I thought you might have met him.

I think in general, most guys aren't that great at talking on the phone. The most important thing is that you can talk in person. I think I used to be that way. Up until college, I had never been on the phone longer than maybe 30-45 seconds. I still don't like phones, but can hold conversations. Longest phone conversation was about 7-8 hours. Hahaha, those were the days! That was when I was on CSH. Man, was I teased because I spent over 24 hours on the phone in 4-5 days. Perhaps you remember the days of my "Wife" and "Mistress". You actually confused the two of them once, much to my dismay, hehehe.

Whoops, sorry :( I uhh... I didn't mean to

If guys aren't good at talking on the phone then why does he insist on calling me? I'M not good at talking on the phone either, I don't like having conversations with ANYONE on the phone. AIM I can do and in person is fine, but I hate the idea of holding an object up to my ear and trying to come up with something to say into it

Most likely because he doesn't know this about you. MOST (good) guys assume that their girlfriend wants them to check in with them, so that they know he is thinking of her. I think if you tell him how you feel about it and explain it isn't a reflection of how you feel about him, he will most likely understand and probably even be relieved!

Yeah but if I try to say "hey I'll just let you go and we'll talk later or something" Pete just goes "nooooo" and won't let me get off the phone. It's really annoying.

Yeah he's pretty famous, which is weird just because it's really just a dumb internet video. I'm proud of him though.
