Wives and Special Occasions
So, do all wives think that they should get a birthday "week", or just mine? I understand that it is a bummer I am working on her birthday this year, but this is a multi-year occurrence. She seems to feel the same way about mother's day as well. What's the deal here? For father's day, I'm lucky to get people to stop pestering me and give me some time to myself. My best shot at a gift is something equivalent to a tie. Admittedly, I have a thing with getting gifts. I'm not really very fond of the whole concept, on several personal levels. But regardless, I just don't understand the sense of entitlement. Perhaps there is some social nuance I am missing here. Help me out if you have an opinion. Oh, and if you have any gift ideas (earrings have been suggested so far), I'd love to hear them. I think that tops for my budget would be $200, but around the $100 mark would be a lot more do-able. :)
