Yeah, when I saw the sign for $2.45/gallon a few days ago my first thought was: "... Yeah, this just means the assholes are going to be busting out their SUVs and Hummers again." SO not surprising.

We're already at $2.00. >_< At least the people who bought hybrids/small cars are 'stuck' with them for a few years.

When gas prices go back up again, they won't be able to give them away... again.

It's as if the buyers of SUV's WANT the West to be defeated. They're putting themselves, and the rest of us, at tremendous risk because we have to import such a high percentage of our oil and gas consumption over potentially militarily hazardous sea lanes.

I've said for a long time that people should have to apply for permits before buying large vehicles. Sure it goes against the American way, but it would stop those darn idiots from driving tanks with no one in them that obviously have never gone off road or even hauled one vehicle full of anything around because they don't want to ruin their paint jobs, while talking on their cell phone and practically running people like me off the road! *pant pant* Sorry. I'm done. ^_^
