I have just seen "Cloverfield", the much-viral-marketed giant monster movie from J. J. Abrams.
And I can say with few reservations that it is . . .
Fucking awesome!
Best giant monster movie ever. It's everything that the American Godzilla wanted to be, but didn't have the brains, guts or heart.
And this is no kiddie movie. Cloverfield is hard-core unnerving and disturbing on several levels. Not a 'feel good' movie.
I predict many more giant monster movies in the next couple of years. I suspect this is going to be a huge success.
