I feel like someone who just had to lose a leg to save their life.
Last week I finally got rid of Pendragon, my '76 Chrysler Cordoba. My first car, I've owned it since I was 16. It needed far more work than I could handle, though, so it's been sitting without an engine, for at least the past 8 years. I get quite attached to my cars, so it was hard to let her go anyway, but part of the difficulty was also the fact that everyone always said I'd never fix her up again. It kills me that they were right.
And just to salt my wounds, fate decided that I would end up at a car show only days later where someone had an almost identical car. The same color, same interior, same engine, etc., just in far better condition.
I've been to a lot of car shows in the last 17 years and have NEVER seen one of these cars at one (I always wanted mine to be the first). So what are the chances that I would just happen to stumble across a car show, that I didn't even know was going to be there, to find not only one of these cars, but one that looked SO much like mine?? =(
EDIT:Before anyone even says it, I'm fully aware that I can someday get another Cordoba. I hate explaining that I'm not attached to Cordobas in general. I was attached to MY car. You either understand what I mean by this or you don't.
