So. I don't do this very often. I've sort of forgotten how to do it. Good times, eh?
*Cough* Ahem. Is this thing on?
Anyway, today has been an exciting, almost landmark day, in the life of Ross, as much has happened. The story of the day reads thus.
First, my mother woke me up this morning in a rather violent way, angrily brandishing a couple of large brown envelopes and waving them in my face. I was quite scared for a minute, but she'd brought me a cup of tea, which calmed me down, and made things ok. It turned out to be loads of stuff from Bristol, including confirmation that I got a place in the (oversubscribed) halls I applied for, which is lucky, and nice, as apparently they (Goldney halls, dontchaknow) are some of the nicest halls ever, as many people I know who've been there (a massive 3) have informed me. Their leaflet seems to also think they're the best ever. Good sings.
There was other stuff too, including information about the extra courses I can do in my first year. I might be able to do some basic Japanese, and get proper teaching in it, which would be nice, but I don't know if it will fit my timetable, I have to phone up and find out.
All good though. Although it does present me with lots more forms to send off. Och.
I then went for an early morning driving lesson (well, 11-1), which went very well, even though I've not driven for two weeks last. Did parallel parking for the first time, which went fine. He reckons I'm the best person he's had doing manouvres for 'yonks'. I reckon he's being honest too, because he never hesitates to tell me that other than that, I'm still an 'often shocking' driver. Although today went really well, so all is ok.
I then had to go shopping with my mother in Chelmsford, which was nice. Went in Next first, and as I hate shopping, did most of it within the first twenty minutes of the day, buying a t shirt, a shirt, three pairs of trousers, and a jacket all in one shop. I didn't get much else around town, just some shoes and some cardigans. Maybe another shirt. Shopping around is overrated. Girls are silly. I now have lots of shiny new clothes though, sitting on floor, begging to be hung up at some point over the weekend. Some hopes. First time I went shopping for clothes in long time though, not as painful as I remember it*.
Then I came home and had cookies and tea with my mum, and we talked. Spent a lot of time with her recently, she's had lots of days off. Seen lots of my family lots actually, including my Nan, which makes me happy, because she rocks.
I then spent an hour or two playing my PSP. Oh the joys.
Then I decided I'd make dinner, because I like cooking, and I'm (normally) good at it. Fajitas sounded like a good idea. Or so I thought.
Purely to defy my mother, I decided that (the first thing I'd started) I would cut up the onions with the mega huge chopping knife we have, instead of the small one we normally use. Then, when trying to cut one of the ends, of, it went wonky, and I put a massive fuck off slice in my thumb. I bled all over the onion (already red, luckily), then had fun washing it out and plastering it up. It meant I couldn't cook either, but luckily it's on top of my thumb, so I can manage to type and just about still use my PSP. First proper cooking accident (other than the odd burn). How annoying.
The fajitas turned out to be quite nice though, after my poor mother had to finish (read - start) making them.
The rest of the evening has been spent largely bonding with MY NEW BEST FRIEND. INTERNET FRIEND (play by the rules) MEGGLES. I have been in a very good mood. I have also watched an episode of Meet the Magoons for the first time, which I found to be utterly hilarious, wish I'd watched it from the start. I've since been watching South Park all evening on Paramount, which as always, has had me in stitches.
And lastly, I've written my first LJ entry for a long while, and reminded myself how bad my grammar is, and why I don't do this ever.
*Possibly a lie.
FUN FUN FUN. SUN. IN THE SUN. FUN IN THE SUN.
