I roll and flick my dagger around one wrist then the other as I walk back to my quarters. I'm feeling on a bit of a high after practice tonight. Was quite a good one. Now that Sonny is learning to use his second sight he isn't getting laughed at by the others or getting whacked by Jack. He's definitely not a natural but he is improving a lot.
Of course we didn't get through one practice session without having to break up Marcel and Alison, again. Bruno knocked their heads together, literally, and told them to stop pulling that shit around Jack. He's really showing now and it's a little weird to see him working through his moves with a round belly but he resists every attempt by Bruno to stop him. Was fun to watch him put Daniel on his ass though. I had a pretty good three way with Quinton and Tell. Was a good work out.
I walk past the common room and take a peek in. The others are all in there and I see we have Christian visiting as well. He is warming up with Alexis playing chess. When they play it's so relaxed, sipping their wine and talking, laughing. He'll be playing Sonny soon. That is like all out war. Christian is very serious about his chess when it comes to Sonny. He doesn't quite like his lazy attitude toward it or the fact that Sonny beats him almost every time. The others are sitting round chatting.
Only two not in there and weren't at practice either are Raphi and Drago. I know Raphi will be in his room, he rarely comes out unless he has to. I wander past Drago's quarters and see light coming out. He must be in his room too. He often goes off on his own. Wonder what is more important than our company. I walk past and am almost at my own door but then curiosity gets the better of me and I go back.
The door isn't fully closed so I push it open and walk in. He's got his music going as usual, sitting there with a book, and writing. I am curious. I lean against the wall and fiddle with my knife flicking it round my fingers. "You missed a good practice..."
