I sit on the bed out on the terrace as I wait for Gaspard to join me. I am curious as to what business this Detective and that angel have with him, but I trust if I must know Gaspard will tell me.
I don't waste any time when I leave the nest I head straight for Gabriel's. I'm not about to go walking in the front door so I land in the tower. I'm almost immediately met with the one they call Christian. "I am not here to fight. I am here to see Gabriel."
No sooner have I said that he is taking form and lunging for me. I sidestep his attack and grab a hold of him then throw him off the side of the tower.
I sigh at the vampires ease against Christian. Nicholas and Bart make a move but I hold up my hand, "He is too powerful for Christian, you two are no match."
Taking flight I land just behind him, "State your business stranger.Gabriel is aware of your presence. Tell us what you want."
I tilt my head back listening to him speak before turning to face him. This one is stronger than the Ulfheonar and higher up the food chain. I can sense it.
I keep my senses on the other wolves and Christian when he flies back up and lands in the tower. I can sense the animosity coming from them. "My business is for Gabriel's ears." I smile at the one who addressed me. "Tell him I have brought him a gift he will be most interested in." I
I sense something I've not felt in a very long time. Stories of old.... I instruct Andrei to give me a mental image of this vampire. My eyes widen when he does. Well well, so he was no legend.
Bring him to my quarters, but I want everyone close and on guard. Contact Lord Kenta as well. Tell him to come at once.
I transform and wait by the large fireplace for Gaspard's arrival.
The demon says Gabriel will see me and leads me into the castle with the others in close proximity. I take in my surrounds as we walk. The place brings back many memories of times spent in castles just like these but that was hundreds of years ago. Finally I am shown into Gabriel's chambers.
I take note of the layout of the room as I walk in. I also notice the others keep quite close to me as I make my way to Gabriel. As I come to a standstill so do the others except for one of the Ulfheonar. He moves past me and goes to stand next to Gabriel. His mate I see, and smell.
I motion with my hand towards the seats in front of the fireplace. "You don't mind if I sit do you. It's been a rather tiring day."
Looking him over finally I speak, "You were thought only a legend Lord Gaspard. Many years ago you betrayed your own... and now you come to me bearing a gift?"
I step closer feeling Nicholas close at my side. I take in a deep breath, "You smell of angels and protectors. Working for the other side since the slaughter?"
I study him closely as he speaks. It doesn't surprise me that he knows who I am and I notice he refers to me as Lord, gives respect, but then questions me as well. Respect with caution. Very smart. "You would be correct."
I dig in my pocket for my cigarette case. If he can smell that on me then he can also smell Michael's blood. "You have been high on their priority list for quite some time have you not? You have them worried." I take out a cigarette then hold the case out to him in silent offering. "Which is why I came to you before any other Lord Gabriel."
I shake my head and wave my hand - I'd rather not smoke yet.
"You work for the order and tell me I am high on their list... yet you sit here as calmly as a welcomed guest."
I walk around him standing behind his chair, "The smell of angel blood does not escape me. And this is no warrior blood. Have you fought with one of your bosses Lord Gaspard? A falling out from yet another clan?"
I light up my cigarette staying calm and appearing it even though my senses are on full alert. I do not like having a killer at my back. "I wouldn't call it a falling out as such." I chuckle to myself. "Let's just say I no longer work for the order."
I put my cigarette case away in my pocket. "And right now I would be way above you on their priority list so I wouldn't worry about that if I were you."
I transform into human form and walk around to face him. I can sense Lord Kenta near so I look at the others.
"You may leave us, Nicholas will stay."
They growl but obey. I sit in the large chair across from Gaspard as Nicholas stands next to me. My hand automatically reaching for him. He sits on the arm of the chair never taking his eyes of our guest.
"So tell me Lord Gaspard - who have you betrayed."
Saying I betrayed anyone hits a raw nerve with me. I was the one betrayed! My eyes glow red and my fangs grow in anger as I growl back at him and blow out smoke. "I betrayed no one Gabriel! No one plays me for a fool! Not without paying for it with their life."
I reach into my jacket pocket and pull out the other half of Michael's heart. "Your gift." I toss it to him.
My eyes widen as I look at the offense item as it lands at my feet. Kenta was telling the truth. Michael coerced Gaspard to betray his own. I had always taken his stories as the ramblings of an old man.
Before I can respond Kenta has opened the large bay window and is at my side looking down at the half heart; a smirk on his face.
I was skeptical when I received the call, but as soon as I saw him those old feelings of betrayal filled me. Yet he still commands some respect. but the sight of Michael's heart, part of it intrigues me more than anything.
Sliding into the room I speak to him gaging the waters.
I am not at all surprised when Kenta appears by Gabriel's side. I could smell him. I take a draw on my cigarette as I look at him. "Aaah the one that got away. Still sore about that are you. Time not heal your wounds Kenta?"
I smirk at him, "Time heals all wounds isn't that the saying. Although," I wave my hand to him, "it obviously didn't work so well with you and Michael. But for me... I have amassed great wealth and a coven of my own."
Walking to the fire I smile, my back to them, "And you Gabriel, thought I was just an old fool with storied of lore."
I feel him smile as I turn to face them once more. "Times are different now Lord Gaspard. Because of you covens are closer, take care of one another - protect each other. Gabriel sent for me for this very reason. I know you all too well."
Gabriel leans forward, placing a hand on his lover's thigh, "What is it you want Lord Gaspard?"
I take another draw of my cigarette while I eye Kenta. Maybe I made a mistake in ordering his death after all. He seems to have come out of all this quite well.
I blow out smoke and turn my attention back to Gabriel and his question. "It is not what I want. It is what I will have." I cut my eyes to his Ulfheonar who is watching me intently. I see a great amount of intelligence in his eyes.
I look back to Kenta. "I know the clans are closer. I may have been working for the Order but you know me Kenta. I don't leave anything to chance." I then look back at Gabriel. "I also know in this world you are greatly respected Gabriel which is why I chose to come to you rather than anyone else."
I take another draw on my cigarette, inhaling it slowly and as always enjoying the taste. "You have yet to ask me as to what I have done with the other half of Michael's heart."
