I'm tired. I am in NO mood for Lucifer's bullshit, but that has never stopped him. This case was harsh. Too many innocents hurt, not enough guilty parties caught. Who am I kidding? Not caught, killed. I'm getting sour in this job.
Just as I was finishing up my paperwork, Lucifer pops in to give me grief. Not that I expect him to offer me comfort, but it would be damn nice if he let up some times.
After some sparring he left leaving me angry and frustrated. I grabbed my files and took them downstairs. Andrej on duty so who the hell knows if they got logged in and filed. Told him to get off his prissy ass and do some work!
Now in my office I realize just how brunt out I feel. If I can just get a few minutes...
"Andrew..."
Fuck. Sighing I open my eyes and lean forward, Jacey. Why would he be here? He's been around as long as I can remember, good at his job, damn good. Always come through on things I've needed.
Even his tone is tense and tired. I get the feeling if it hadn't have been me at the door someone would be getting their head chewed off for disturbing him.
I know he has just finished up with a bad case but he's had worse and in all the years I have worked here I've never seen him like this.
I hold the file up. "Sorry, didn't mean to disturb you but there's been a mix up with the contents of Dave Baker's file." I take the liberty of walking into his office. "It's got Mason Wiley's paperwork in it."
Yeah I have never seen Andrew like this. Something must be really bothering him. He's more than just tense, he is flustered. He rifles through his papers and so far is unable to find what he is looking for. He gets even more frustrated.
There is something about us older angels we understand more than the young ones do and I feel Andrew may need some help right now. I'm not sure what I can do for him but I can at least lessen this hassle. I move to the desk and reach across laying my hand down over the top of his stilling it and look up at him. "It's alright Andrew I will find it. You look like you've had enough for the day. Hard case?"
Anyone else and I would have ripped them a new one, but Jacey is one of us older angels and he understands. I lean back in my chair and let him look for the correct paperwork.
"It's... alot of things."
I watch him organize the things on my desk quickly and find the papers. I feel a sense of relief that they were even there. "Thanks Jacey."
He nods and smiles and I realize it has been a very very long time since anyone has offered me a smile much less a caring ear.
"You ever feel like you just want to walk away from it all?"
I smile softly and chuff out a short laugh. "Every time I come on shift after Andrej." That gets the corner of his lip to turn up into a brief smile and there is a knowing roll of the eyes. I know I am not the only one who has a low opinion of Andrej's work ethic
( ... )
His touch sends a warm wave of comfort through me and I close my eyes and take a deep breath. It's been so very long since I've had the touch of a caring soul.
I place my hand over his on my shoulder and open my eyes and look into his. His words ring true.. take some time out for myself.
"I can not remember the last time I did anything that was not work related."
With what else has been going on in his life it doesn't surprise me he has buried himself in work. I've heard the rumours about Lucifer and I haven't witnessed their exchanges but I've heard of them from those that have. The way he touches my hand I feel the longing for some sort of affection or comfort or simply not to feel alone.
I understand how lonely a long life can be and to save yourself for one such as him who mocks what is offered. That must be so frustrating and hurtful. It's extra stress on top of the job.
"You'll go crazy if you don't do something. You need to let off a little steam once in a while." I give his shoulder a slight squeeze. "So what do you like to do?" I grin at him. "Besides work."
I've never noticed his smile, maybe I've just never seen it. I don't know if it's the exhaustion, the frustration or just him but... I stand and lean against my desk next to him, his hand slipping down my arm.
My eyes travel over his face and full lips, "It's been a long time since I've had any fun. What would you suggest?"
He's checking me out! That makes me smile. It's not like I haven't checked him out before. I mean who wouldn't. He's hot in a not so glaring way. Full lips, cute little nose, flowing hair, narrow hips too, yeah I notice these things. I've always been a sucker for a nice set of blue eyes though and his are such a lovely shade.
I decide to take the initiative. I smile and lean in close. "What I would suggest we can't do at your desk." I lightly slap my hand down on his thigh. "So go home, have a rest." I give his thigh a squeeze. "Then meet me back here after my shift."
I pick up the file, take my hand off his thigh and brush it along his cheek as I smile softly at him and stand up. "Trust me, it'll take your mind off things for a bit."
With that I make my way to the door, file tucked under my arm. I stop just before going through it and look back at him and grin. "Dress warm, it's going to be a bit cold." Then I exit before he can say no.
I shiver... and smile. I've never been one for casual sex, but it has been a damn long time and Lucifer.... damn him he knows what he does to me. He's never set a claim on me... not even hinted toward one. I can do as I please.
The heat from his hand still on my cheek, and thigh, I smile as I clear up my desk and slip into the ether and arrive at home. A cup of tea, a shower and some rest. I have eight hours before I meet Jacey.
The thought of what he has in store for, might be cold... hmmm interesting. I laugh at myself loving the feel of not having to use my brain for a case or trying to understand what Lucifer is doing.
During my shower I let my mind wander. Jacey is incredibly attractive, no doubt about that. He came across rather sensual as well. I"m looking forward to tonight. I want to let go - of everything. I want to enjoy yself, I want to feel - just feel.
My shift for once goes mostly uneventful. In my break I use the ether to go back home and get what I need for Andrew. I have them sitting beside my desk in a bag.
Now I am looking at the clock and waiting for the hand to click over onto the five. The thought that he won't come back does push into my mind but I think to myself that if he doesn't come to me then I will just go to him.
It's been a while since I did this with anyone but myself and the company will be awesome. If it leads to other activities, in particular ones that would warm us up, like sex, that would be a bonus. It's been a while. That is another thing that starts to get few and far between when you've been around as long as us.
Finally it's time so I grab up my bag and head up to his office.
I can hear the excitement in his voice and it has me smiling broadly as I open his door and go on in.
I walk up to him still smiling. "I'm glad you came back.." Then I reach out and take his hand. "I've been looking forward to this all night." With that I pull him through the ether and when we step out we are standing in snow.
The moon shines down on the scene in front of us lighting the darkness. There is a large frozen pond, a natural ice rink, and just in front of us and scattered around the edges of it are seats amongst the winter trees. At this time of morning we will have it all to ourselves and soon the sun will come up over it. That is always such a beautiful sight.
I turn and grin at him, plumes of steam coming out of both our mouths as our heated breath cools in the air. "What do you think?"
I look at him and the realisation comes over me. Anyone who had skated before would know straight away what we were here for.
My eyes go wide with mirth and my face cracks into a grin as I take a step toward the seat nearest us and laugh as I tug on his hand to follow. "Looks like I'm going to be getting hands on teaching you to ice skate."

I stand up and yank the folder from him and slam it on my desk. Fucking Lucifer gets me so... fuck! I open the folder and sure enough.
Running my fingers through my hairs I sigh, "Sorry Jacey... just not myself lately. Give me a minutes I'll fix this."
Moving around my desk I sit and start going through the paperwork to find the right ones.

I've dressed warm like he asked, where is he taking me? My mind tries to wander to Lucifer, his heat, but I refuse to let him ruin this for me.
A soft knock at my door has me standing and smiling, "Yes, yes come in!"

I look at him not clear as to why we are here. I look around once more before answering, "It's beautiful, but why..."
His hand still holding mine I do not attempt to break our contact. The cold surrounding us is highlighting his warmth and I do not want to let go.
