Crazy and disconcerting. Why did his family kick him out? And how long is he gonna be living with you? I say charge him rent. Squash any inklings he might have of staying someplace longterm for free. Doesn't have to be a lot, but something to remind him that it isn't his house and he's gotta contribute somehow.
Mike and I came up with the same amount separately. But Mike's mother doesn't want us to ask him for money. Goofy.
What's worse, I think there's a 'kick the dog' situation going on here. I tell Mike to do something, Mike tells W, ... LoveseatBoy ends up doing it. Dunno, this week will make a full month.
I had heard he's been talking to his dad, but the mom is still mad. Story we heard was the typical 'You're lazy, get out.' He was paying his folks rent... eh, I dunno.
I can't get Mike to talk about the house much at all. Resolution doesn't seem quick in coming.
Argh so frustrating! Why does everyone in Mike's family have to be so damn passive? I say charge him anyway, regardless of Mike's Mom, and then give the money to Mike's Dad.
Well, if he's helping out (but doing W's chores...jeez), that's not so bad. A month is a long time, hopefully since he's actually talking to his parents they'll make up and he'll move back in with them. How old is this kid that his parents were charging him rent?

He was kicked out of his house. He's nice enough... but having someone else around is just a lil' more inconvenient. Sharing bathroom, laundry.
It's even ridiculous how little I care. I make a fuss to Mike about him paying rent or something... just so I'm not a complete slacker.
