Greetings oh wise and fruitful LJ hivemind, I have a question (mainly going out to artists out there, but anyone else who has an answer will be more than welcome...

Currently working on a costume for the eastercon masquerade, so I can't give details of it (it is the same costume that I wore last weekend for Jon's larp though, for those who know of it already) and I am having... issues with painting it.

I have several different surfaces that need to be pained in metalic acrylic paints, and currently the paint keeps on peeling off... The surfaces are mainly plastics or gaffa tape and I need it all to have a surface appearance of one type (metalic if possible)

So the question is, how should I do this? Is there some sort of good primer I should be using for this, and if so what and where should I get it? Alternativly, is there something I could mix it with to get the right effect, I know with some paints you can mix them with PVA glue but I suspect this wouldn't be the case with metalic paint.

Any and all suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Peter
