(What would Lord of the Synth Do?)

Spent a little too much time at work today--but we're closing in on our service release, and while I don't like where I work, I do the tasks before me. I'm a professional, etc. I get the goddamn job done.

Peeled away for a couple of hours, to buy a new air filter for the furnace (due for replacement) and to buy new sheets. My old sheets started giving up the ghost recently with a small hole or two. I woke up this morning with an 18" gash in them--hey, I'm a restless sleeper and turn a dozen or more times a night.

Procured the new filter without much problem. I went off to Nordstrom to check out the bedding and while it's high qaulity, it's just way too damned expensive. Followed up at Macy's and while there was some good stuff, nothing matched. At least when I could find something for a full bed. I'm not going to take this as an excuse to buy a larger bed, even if I do need to replace my sagging mattress. I ended up at Bed, Bath & Beyond, where I found a nice 620 thread count full set being blown out on clearance at the same price as the 300 thread count sets. There we go. It's a bit lighter than the old bedding--I was trying to match the shade to my comforter exactly--but it matches well, and it's much nicer fabric.

Went home and installed the new filter for the furnace. Pretty simple. But if a house burns down in Redmond in the next few days, well, maybe I didn't do it quite right.

Put the new bedding on. Quite nice. Really nice.

To quote Kyle MacLachlan as Special Agent Cooper from an old SNL parody of "Twin Peaks":

"...I've got to find out about these sheets. Not cotton, not rayon, not silk--damn fine sheets. I'm gonna get naked and slide around in them."

I appreciate the sheets, but the naked sliding around is out.
