The Creator has opened his eyes and awakened from the dream

I've been working out all day exactly what to write in regards to the news that Robert Jordan passed yesterday.
Fact is, words escape me.
I haven't been the longest fan of Jordan's work, but I have been an avid fan since the first time Juli said I should read the Wheel of Time books, nearly nine years ago.

I have lost count as to how many times I have read and re-read the series, and though I can recall full scenes in each book with perfect clarity I am always happy to sit back and re-read through the series once more.

That Jordan will never inspire the world with his vision, his words and his creativity seems wrong to me as he was a true Hero. He inspired through writing, planted the seeds of imagination and gave birth to a world and characters that have as much, and in some cases, more depth and realism than anyone of flesh and blood in this world.

Throughout his struggle RJ remained vigilant, upbeat and determined to fight to the bitter end, and he did so. He was not so foolhearted though not to make preparations for his literary work to continue in case of his death.

Though a Memory of Light will come out in the future, and though it will have some of RJ's actual writing, it will not be the same. However it will stand as a tribute to a literary master.

As I said my words are pretty feeble today, and my expressions do little justice to a man who I considered a Hero.

May the Gods smile kindly upon you James Rigney, aka Robert Jordan.
