[A few days late, so as to not go at all unnoticed, Aizen Sousuke has left a number of gifts around Soul Society. They are each wrapped in white paper with a black ribbon, a tag wrapped around them somewhere bears his neat, familiar calligraphy in a dark purple ink.]
For Hinamori
The box contains a small, silver locket, engraved and jewel-set with a depiction of the Fifth Division's 'Lily of the Valley'. Inside there is a tiny image of Sousuke himself, as she remembers him. The note reads: In case you forget.
For Renji
The box is carved with the kanji for the fifth Division on the top, and a slot through which a single tissue pokes. It is full to the brim with them, refillable, and the note reads: I suggest if you do not have one already, this might be an appropriate gift for the Captain of the Fifth. Especially considering the time of year.
For Hitsugaya
His box, slightly longer, contains a black dagger with a silver dragon inset into the length of the blade. The note accompanying it only says Hitsugaya rather than anything more intimidating.
For Ichigo, Sousuke has sent a Soul Society serialised romance. Once published in the magazine, the novelisation depicts the story of a young Shinigami noble who, setting aside his responsibilities and his rank, fell in love with a human woman -- an interest that leads tragically to her death by the Hollow that pursues him, and his being forced to kill her himself to send her to Soul Society. The final act was not the happy ending that it had promised to be; for she now in the afterlife rebuked him for being in a way responsible for her death.
The note reads: It occurs to me that you have not had access to novels such as this. This is one of the classics of Soul Society literature; its title is 'The Futility of the Nobility', a disappointing name considering the quality of the writing itself. I send this with the hope that at least you are capable of reading it, though it occurs to me that it may be beyond your level. You will notice that it is also flame retardant.
Gin gets no presents -- instead he has a note which reads:
Please proceed.
