Going back to Ohio...why God why?????
Now I know I don't post here often, but this is a biggie so I thought I'd cross post it from my Tribe blog.
So I...um...well...I left Oberlin a couple of credits short of that *grumble snort* degree, and they're getting a bit uppity about that. So it looks like I'll be back in Ohio for the spring semster, Febrary through May, and see about taking care of that. So you ohio peeps, I'll be seeing you soon-ish. Boston crew, I'll miss you guys a ton, but I'll only be gone a few months, and before you know it I'll be back.
This was actually kind of a hard decision - go back to the evil wastes of Ohio, or transfer some of the credit to a Boston school and have even more work to do in order to get a degree. This choice puts me even further away from doing something serious at Berklee, but I've gotten the feeling I may be going there in spurts, as needed to make the music I want to. But it makes sense, in terms of just getting the degree as a culturally helpful business tool (and getting it as quickly as possible).
It might be nice to see Oberlin again tho - DJ at the 'sco and parties, juggle a bit, possibly join the circus, maybe teach some poi. I'm supposed to be farily good at that. And get those damned math classes out of the way - oh yeah, here's another condition for going back - I'm only doing it if I can get a guarantee that I can take Math 030 and Math 090 - the easy ones I have a real shot at passing. Besides, I may figure out what the hell I'm supposed to be doing right now with this portion of my life. Get some focus, a routine, see if that works for me this time around.
