Christmas Notes

My brother was confused about my Christmas ornaments of Lord Nelson (complete with one arm and one eye) and The Victory, and wanted to know why he didn't have a red jacket. Sigh. Apparently that was one wasted copy of Command of the Ocean I gave him.

I actually pretty much enjoyed cooking a feast for fourteen and attending 3 different family parties. But I kept sane by sneaking away to write new bits of a crazy David Cook/Neal Tiemann/Adam Lambert steampunk slash story.

I have grown up to be such a very predictable New England lady. I was super excited to get snowshoes, gardening things, pumpkin pancake mix, books, journals, scarves, Victoria & Albert museum coffee mugs and a tiny (4 inch by 4 inch) oil painting. I gave away books, gardening things, baking things, watercolor things, journals, a birdfeeder, a teapot and tea. WHAT we all like a lot of the same things. Very hobbity and circular.

Perhaps the best received gift of all was a tiny giraffe-shaped purse which I filled with quarters and gave to 4 year old Annabelle. One could not have made a millionare so happy.
