Have you ever seen a blood splatter on pavement before? If so, gimme details. If not, I gotta tell ya it's really disconcerting. Especially when it's at the base of the steps to your apartment building. When I first saw it I wasn't sure what I was looking at. I was inclined to think it wasn't a blood splatter at all until I followed the trail from it's starting location. To be honest I felt a little like an investigator from CSI.
I followed it halfway down the street when I realized that the trail was leading away from the Hospital that's only a few blocks away. My mind started racing to understand exactly why that was. Did somebody get stabbed and was mindlessly running from their attacker?
The answer came in the form of a man with a jacket wrapped around his arm being led by a younger woman. At first I didn't think I was seeing it right until I saw blood dripping from his appendage. OK yes. This is the source.
She explained to me that he cut himself with a piece of glass. I didn't have the gall to ask if it was intentional or not. I just asked if he was OK. She then asked where the Hospital was and I directed them.
I asked if she needed help and she said they'd be fine. I was too stunned to reconsider her assurances. They wobbled off and I dumbfoundedly wandered back into my apartment building.
Weird.
To top off the weirdness lately, 2 days ago the fire alarm went off in my building and I assumed that they were testing the alarm system again. After it didn't stop for a moment and I heard sirens in the distance, I started to wonder...
Moments later I am trying to navigate my hallway without obstructing the firemen streaming in. Thankfully it was a false alarm. Or if it wasn't, it was a very small fire that got contained very quickly. I haven't had the chance to ask my building manager what it was. I'm assuming the former primarily because there hasn't been any sort of cleanup service out front the past couple days so I think it's safe to assume there was no fire to begin with.
Still. Strange things going on at my building.
Aside from all that, things have been peachy I suppose. Some friends have lent Nathan and I some Seasons of Star Trek: TNG and that's been most entertaining. Feels weird to watch them again after so many years and it's also good to catch some of those episodes I never saw.
Also, I saw 'Man From La Mancha' at a tiny playhouse not far from here. It was really fun and I kinda wanna go see it again.
I haven't commented on the fact that I had Robin, Deborah, and Bobby here for a week but I guess I should ;-) I think we had a pretty good time, I didn't get a chance to show them Golden Gate Park unfortunately but I did get a chance to get them drunk on a number of occasions. Serious, there were screwdrivers almost every night. Sadly my insane tolerance didn't allow me to get drunk until we went to the Castro. Where I got OhMyGodSlammed. Good times were had by all.
I really hope I don't have a fucked up dream tonight. Here's hoping...
