The Shiny Toy Guns show was very good. It seemed like it took forever to get there. Then, of course, I had to deal with getting lost, finding a place to park, and getting lost, while walking to the club. I had to ask some people where I was at. They didn't know either. I took a guess and found my way. Some opener band named The Courtneys were setting up, when I got there. They were cute--nothing great, but cute. It sounded kind of like Capricorns demos or something. I didn't know there were supposed to be a few bands playing. I hoped I wouldn't have to wait forever to see STG. The next group started setting up, and I noticed "the guy with the hair" was carrying equipment to the stage. I knew he had to be one of the members. He was the only one I saw, who stood out. Then there was another one with cheesy makeup. He turned out to be the lead male vocalist. Hehe. Another guy who looked like a hobbit with a mohawk ended up being the drummer. Then I a saw a girl on stage, and I recognized her as the other singer. They practiced "Le Disko" during sound check, which confirmed everything. The girl is sooo tiny. They should be called Shiny Toy Midgets. The keyboardist is the only one who is tall. He looks like a freakin' skyscraper next to the rest of them. They are very good live. They played about 8 songs, including a Depeche Mode cover of "Stripped." I left right after they were done. The show was only $5. I'm glad I remembered where I parked. I was so worried that I'd forget, and end up walking all over Orlando, alone, early in the morning. I had to get gas on the way home. A bug landed on me, while the gas was pumping, and it scared the shit out of me. I don't know what kind of bug it was.
