Meme Part Deux

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions of a very intimate and creepily personal nature. Or not so creepy/personal.
3. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someoneelse in the post. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Becca, your questions are coming, this is hard

Interview courtesy of Emily:
1. At what age, and why, did you decide to have a long hair?
This sort of happened by default. I had been talking with an awesome guy at TiP, Marti Bolivar (the guy who got me onto Rage Against the Machine) back when I had long-ish sort of Jew hair, and he said to grow it out and he'd dreads it. I forgot and got it cut, but the summer after 8th grade was the last time I cut my hair until this past December when I got it trimmed.

2. What are five characteristics of your dream significant other?
A) Intelligent. I need a woman who can keep me on my toes mentally.
B) Geek. I spend so much of my life entrenched in geekdom: computers, gaming, magic, tv, that I need someone who can accept that.
C) Funny. Humor (or lack there of) is very important to me. I need someone who can appreciate that, and who I can laugh with.
D) Sweet/Nice. I keep falling for girls that help me balance my cynicism and my naivete.
E) Personable. I need someone to help bring me out of my shell.

3. In an era with issues of world population becoming a major concern, do you feel that wealthy and highly educated people should produce more children because, theoretically, they produce individuals that could better help society at large?
I think people should produce more children, but not because of any bullshit Darwinian reason. No, kids are awesome, and whenever you're ready, you should have as many as you can raise, afford, and take care of. And then invite me over to play with them, because I'm great with kids.

4. You're an avid beatles fan. Why? What's your favorite song?
I blame Mom for this one. She gave me my love of music and my idea of social justice and feminism (Dad gave me my sense of humor and attention to a good deal). My favorite song is probably Yesterday; I'd have to really think about it. My favorite album is without a doubt Magical Mystery Tour. I have played that CD more often than almost any other.

5. If you could be any place, with any one, doing any thing, where would it be, with whome, and what would you be doing?
Programming at the MIT AI Lab in the 1970s. I really lament sometimes that it seems like a lot of the important fundamental work in computer science has been done. Back then everything was brand new and there was this overwhelming sense of fun and exploration around everything.
