So, I can't remember the last time I went anywhere. I think the last time I took a 'trip' was to see a buddy of mine in Cornwall...and I was there less then 12 hours...so I don't know if it counts.
About a month ago, I was talking with an old high school friend of mine, who I hadn't physically seen in about 12 years, on MSN and he let me know that he's organizing a private screening of Star Wars Episode III for his work. Being that we are both massive Star Wars fans, he invited me down to Montreal to see it with them. I figured there was no way I was going to be able to get away from work, but I decided to try...and wouldn't you know it, I made it happen.
I took off after work last night, and other then getting a little lost when I got there, it was fan-fucking-tastic. I got there around 8:30, and ended up drinking straight until 2 am. I met alot of people...all great guys...and we just all clicked. So much in common, and it was a blast seeing my old buddy again.
This morning, we awoke early and headed off to the theater. It was SO COOL having a private theater to screen it. I'm not going to go into a review or anything, other then to say that I did like it alot. There were a couple of things I cringed at, but for the most part, I'm happy.
After a nice lunch at Bagels Etc, and then some Chilean stuffed pastry for a snack later on, we just relaxed and watched A New Hope, after which I packed my stuff up and drove home.
It was the start of a great weekend for me. Tomorrow, my buddy from Cornwall is coming down to see me, and my brother's home from Vancouver, and we'll be seeing Episode III again on Monday with the family.
Fun fun fun
