Per
enodia's request that people post this in their journal for purposes of public awareness, I'm doing this because I agree with it wholeheartedly. Speaking as a dog-owner for almost my entire life, it angers me that some legislators want to outlaw the pit bull breed (in this case, legislators in the State of California). Why not go after the owners instead? I suppose it wouldn't be as dramatic of a platform to stand on.
My parents and I got our furry little son from a rescue agency a few years ago. They warned us that he was "bad around people" and it was completely untrue. He had separation anxiety for a few months because he was shifted to many homes. After a few months of kindness, he acts like any other dog. Snap judgements people make about certain animals are often groundless (as is the case with this proposed legislation).
