Today I sat with seven people who most of you know. Seven...not one...seven. Not one person with an ax to grind. Not one person with a chip on their shoulder. Seven! Seven people who had the same thing to say...
"What in the world are we doing?"
I mean really...what are we doing? We talk about loving Christ. We talk about how much he has done for us? We talk about how he has blessed our clothing apparel right off our feet. Amazing!
...and yet...really...what are we doing? Why don't we look different? Why don't we look changed?
I have often thought that it would be a great idea to wear a collar like a priest. I mean, at least then, everyone would know what side you are on. Nobody looks at a priest and says, "I wonder what he does for a living." There is the collar...bam...he must be a priest. No questions asked. Its just obvious...like the nose on his face and the celluloid around his neck!
But, then I think, maybe there is a better way to show to everyone whose side we are on. Maybe, there is a better way to convince everyone that we are on Jesus' side. And then it hits me...a little verse in John 13:34.
But, what does it mean to love one another? And how do we love each other so that they feel loved? If we can't get this right, then really...
What in the world ARE we doing?
Just a thought.
Peace!
