see wide open with a head that's broken

I've been looking to TV for entertainment lately, and... well, it mostly spat back in my face. Until Burn Notice comes back on in the summer, I'm not really sure what to watch in the meantime.

I turned an episode of Naruto on the other day, just to see what it was all about. I guess it's not really the sort of show you can just jump into, because I had no idea what was going on beyond this: a guy named Naruto was fighting a guy named Sasuke. Sasuke believes that Naruto doesn't have it as bad as Sasuke (who apparrently recently lost his family), because the orange-clad ninja never had a family to lose in the first place. So they fought. After a commercial break, another ninja was running beside a talking dog - and the dog's voice sounded like Peter Cullen's (Optimus Prime). They were trying to prevent something - the Naruto/Sasuke fight, I imagine.

At some point in the fight, Sasuke broke Naruto's neck, seemingly killing him. Naruto, lifeless, collapsed in the water, until some kind of fiery demon thing brought him back to life.

So... yeah. I'm not sure what to think. A familiar DBZ episode came on right after, though. It was Gohan's birthday, shortly before the Cell Games were to begin. I enjoyed that little section back in the day.

Moving along... I've never been one for responsible spending, so my new mp3 player says hello.

Yeah, yeah, there's probably a million other things I should've spent the little bit of extra money I had after my tax refund. Dental care, for example, or perhaps a new pair of glasses. But hell, I so rarely buy things I want anymore, so I fucking did it.

I'm glad I did, too. There's just something fundamentally right about having my entire music collection with me. The built-in FM tuner and voice recorder is a nice touch, too. Now I don't need to scramble for bits of paper whenever I have one of my random fits of inspiration. And I'm sure I can find a use for the picture & video viewer... *cough*porn*cough*

The unexpected bit of niftiness came from the fact that it plays protected WMAs that I purchased on Zune Marketplace. Supposedly nothing but a Zune should be able to play them, but it does, and I'm certainly glad for it.

So hello, world. I can tolerate you a little better now, because I don't have to listen to you.
