All American Week 2004

For the past week we've been conducting the All-American Week Festivities here at Fort Bragg; I, along w/ my cute wife, have been working at the 82nd Airborne Division Museum, as myself and about 25 other living historians set up "camp" on the parade field in front of the museum - 4 WWII Jeeps, trucks, scooters, a 1942 Harley MP motorcycle, as well as equipment, weapons, etc...

Lost of Division veterans came through & showed their kids, grandkids & others what is was like & retold stories to our captive audience - it was really a lot of fun & in some cases quite moving; we met a veteran of the 11th Airborne Division who jumped into combat twice in the South Pacific in WWII ( Los Banos and Corregidor), as well as once more in Korea, also met two Normandy veterans and more than a few Vietnam era vets as well - well worth the effort to be able to talk w/ these guys!

Also - HOORAY!!! Bought a new car today at Car Max in Raleigh - silver 2001 Jetta - its actually in Florida & will be sent to Raleigh in the next few days - I highly recommend dealing w/ CarMax too if youre looking for a car

May try to sneak up to Raleigh tonight too - gotta work tomm@ 0500...but so what...

...and remember a veteran today on Memorial Day.......
