How long has it been?

Been busy beyond belief -- so much so that updating this thing has been low on the priority scale. All the things I've done so far:

* Finished up the Met season running through the techno-woods of "Die Walkurie" and had a nice little mini-run of "Armida"

* Co-starred with ACS in a little piece upstate about the Old West, which provided us with a nice little working vacation in the mountains.

* Managed to go 5 weeks without a cigarette before stresses from the upstate show and the dog finally did me in.

* Sent the dog to boot camp to deal with his aggression issues. Got him back more aggressive and fearful of me than before and am now reduced to the old "leather-jacket-and-gloves" protocols to "armor" myself against being bit. They seem to be working so far and the little guy's slowly getting more comfortable with me, although it's tough to essentially have a dog trainer say, "The reason he's a shit is because of you -- and now you have to do all the work in making him not be a shit". Especially when you're not a dog person and never were and likely never will be.

* Currently working on a small series of 1-act comedies with the Midtown International Theatre Festival, with the final show going up tomorrow.

* ACS leaves for Minnesota this week for a tour with the Fringe Festival out there (apparently the biggest Fringe Festival in the Country!! Who knew?) for two weeks. Thankfully her parents are taking the dog for about half of that time, leaving me to work with him alone for the remainder of the time. Of course, most of the days that I'll be without him, I'll be temping. At least I won't have to worry about him shitting on my carpet.

All in all, life continues with some joys, some stresses, some ups and some downs. I'm looking forward to the Met season starting up again and am glad to finally have some real money coming in this summer, between temping and background work, which has been more plentiful than before, much to my delight. The stresses of domestic life often wear on me, but I keep reminding myself that I chose this path and that my partner's pretty damn good in the final analysis. Mostly, though, I'm just completely and utterly exhausted. All the time.

*Sigh*
