Folding, Grasshoppers, Kites, Peacocks, Yachts, and a Mother Bird - Oh My!

Whew.  After a great vacation, getting caught back up with work, and then getting laid out with one heck of a "cold/flue/crud/etcs", I've fallen nearly two weeks behind on my origami postings.  So here is the first batch of goodies.  I'll post the rest tomorrow....

First up is a little practice session of reverse folding - a technique commonly used when creating heads, appendages, etcs on origami pieces.  I only used one piece of paper instead of two to help build of a reserve of "opps" papers!

Tuesday jumps in with a grasshopper.  A very simple model comprising of only four folds.

Wednesday flys by with the kite base, which is a very common starting point for many models and even other bases.

Thursday struts in with a fancy Peacock.  Something about this particular paper pattern makes my eyes hurt!

Friday sails in on a yacht with a big ol' sail.  I'm not sure why; but, I really like the shape of the hull.

And as a surprise, the weekend chirped in with a model of a mother bird instead of some recommendations (such as the prior weekend's suggestion of using the finger puppets as name tags on birthday gifts).  This model is very thick and sturdy.  It also hassome cool lines to it.  It's one of my favorites so far.
