So, I'm running events at GenCon this year. Five of them, 4-6 players each, 4 hour sessions. I bring this up for two reasons:
One, I'd like feedback on my event descriptions. I'm not feeling very inspired, and I have until the 17th to get them polished in order to get them in during the second round of submissions.
Two, I'm gonna need players to test these things out. I'm looking for a wide variety of experience levels and personality types, so that I get some idea of what I'm in for. You know gamers I haven't met? I'd like to try running a one-shot with 'em. 4E testing will begin in May/June, when I get my books.
The Dark Cavern (3.5 & 4E, 6 players)
"It is dark. You may be eaten by a Grue." This nontraditional dungeon crawl is based on classic text adventure games. Best bring torches and a sense of humor, kiddos. Pre-made characters, available in 3.5 or 4E.
The Adamantine Chef (3.5, 6 players)
Each year on the feast day of St. Sollars, the greatest cooks in Faerun descend upon Heliogabalus to compete for the title of Adamantine Chef. Six adventurers have the honor of assisting them in the creation of their greatest dishes yet. A low-level, nonstandard 3.5 adventure with a selection of pre-made characters.
Dreams Made Flesh (Homebrew, 2 events, 4 players each)
Dreams walk the streets of the city, and nightmares find the unwary in dark corners. Somewhere deep and strange, the sleepers slowly stir. The public debut of the Dreams Made Flesh system, created by some guy you've never heard of, will take you all the way from character creation to gameplay. Rules-light, with a heavy emphasis on roleplaying and a pinch of nutmeg.
