Sometimes... it's all in the delivery.
I purchased some Chapstick (™) for shimmeringjemmy this morning. She placed it on her bedside table. Accordingly, the cat, cute_evil knocked it off the bedside table.
She looked at me and said, "Now I know what's been happening to it." (This would seem to explain why the last 5-10 of these have vanished mysteriously)
In a dead pan voice I looked at her and said.
"Yes, the cat ate it."
(I continued deadpan)
"This explains 2 things:
One... It would explain why they keep vanishing mysteriously.
Two... it would explain why she has such tender lips."
And shimmeringjemmy convulsed with laughter.
