Wow LJ just deleted my whole entry wtf. No wonder I have stopped making so many posts. I try to fucking vent about how the network here at Keene fucking sucks and I can't even get that done because the fucking website decides to reset while I am fucking writing.
Anyway, bascially I was on 4chan Sunday morning and happened to get a particularly nasty virus that modified my registry files so that I had to send a good 3-4 hours in the Windows Recovery Console to repair and finally get my computer running up well enough to delete the junk off my machine. (Side note: kernel32.dll is my new nomination for an hero considering it is stupid enough to get deleted when it controls the fucking system logging on) Well just to update those that are fortunately enough not to go to this shit school I will tell you about the network administration techniques employed by our lovely IT Group (read: pants-shitting apes with less brains than a goddamn Evangelical Republican Nigger(Oh the elitism!)). We use two programs that are required to access the network McAfee Anti-Virus (Discovered 3 infected files in the time it took Malewarebytes Anti-Malware to discover 30 ohohoho) and Cisco Clean Access Agent. One of the things that Cisco checks for is if McAfee is installed and if Automatic Updates are enabled. Well as you are probably starting to get a picture of since my registry files were tampered with they modified my Automatic Update files so that Cisco can't access them anymore. Normally I wouldn't even care because after getting a pretty nasty bug through Automatic Updates I do a monthly check of the Microsoft website to find updates rather than let my computer do them for me. So not broken up I said meh and figured I'd go to the IT Group (Read:see about) later to figure out how to get around CCA and finish up these last two weeks of the semster with easy.
So I went to the IT Group told them how I got a virus, wiped it form my machine, used the Windows CD and the Recovery Console to extract and replace the damaged registry files and get my computer back up to speed. I told them how all the files were replaced successful I have been getting no registry oriented error messages just the usual Oh-shit-this-computer-is-homemade! hardware quirks. I tell them all this and the guy says to me there must be something wrong with my registry files and that I need to either try to fix my registry file problems(Hey wait..didn't I do that for 4 hours yesterday?) or completely reinstall Windows XP on my machine (This is when I started shaking with rage and homicidal instincts) for the remaining 2 weeks of the semester.
I would like to add that if I went and "upgraded" to 64 bit Vista they would have to route me through CCA and McAfee becasue neither currently work with 64 bit Vista and then they wouldn't even ask questions. So because these assholes are too lazy to just do their goddamn jobs and be helpful to the student body my PC will have to go without any internet for 2 fucking weeks of school. Thank fucking god I have this laptop or I would be at the IT group demanding closure to this outrageous amount of goddamn bullshit.
I hate people and I hate this college full of knuckle-dragging apes. I hope they all choke to death on their own useless words.
