In Celebration of St. Cecilia's Day

This poem makes me think of amazing things. How music can evoke so much, for example; how it can be indicative of anything. And so, I bring you the much talked about "this is how you remind me" post.

Brian - "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban
Because you are, hands down, and without a doubt, my favorite person in the whole world. There were times a few summers ago when I'd keep my AIM up and your window open for days at a time just because the idea that you were there would make my day that much better. We've been through good times and some shit, but everytime you come around, I don't feel like I need to play catch up or make small talk or anything--your being there is such a natural piece of my life that when you're back, it feels like you never left at all. My biggest regret? That I've never been able to do that same for you.

Chris - "The Bitch Song" by Bowling for Soup
Because you are undeniably, unabashedly, unashamedly, one of the biggest bitches I have ever met. Sometimes I think that you don't give a damn what anyone thinks. And then there are the times you tell an entire room of RAs that you're bi just to make your point. Damn, you rock. You're a bitch, but I love you anyway; and you're kind of what I want to be when I grow up.

Michelle - "Falling for the First Time" by The Barenaked Ladies
I think it's a little unfair that you're the only person on here who doesn't have a song based on you personally, but on a situation in which it was playing. Do you remember? I was crying hysterically in your bathroom. Yeah.

Alison - The Avett Brothers - At the Beach
Well, obviously, it had to be an Avetts song. Last year in September, you came down the night before Bethy did and we went to Fatz and OD'ed on cheese. Anyway, you were grooving to this song all night (in my mind, at least).

Bethy - "November Blue" by The Avett Brothers
Yeah, as if I could ever have chosen a song by another band. I've known you longer than anyone else from school; I still remember when we met, actually, but that's not the point here. The point is that we first started living together you played this song every night. Guys, I don't mean, like, once before bed. I mean, set the alarm clock to play it over and over for, what?, something like thirty minutes. I don't have any room to talk though, I played nothing but Foo Fighters for three consecutive days.

Lois - "I'll Make a Man Out of You" from Mulan
Damned if I know why, but this is the only song I've ever associated with you. And you're my baby sister. I don't know, I mean, you always listened to a lot of music, and you had a respectable collection (did you actually own a Dixie Chicks CD or did I imagine that?), but you never, well, got loud and obnoxious about it like the rest of us did. Anyway, Donnie Osmand totally reminds me of you. Weird, huh?

Andrea - [a better day to live]
You are absolutely the only person in the entire world who knows which song I'm talking about, and that's why you and this song are connected. Also, happy birthday! :-D

Every Guy I've Liked - "Letter to a Pretty Girl" by The Avett Brothers
This song just makes me think of that great feeling you get when you like someone, but they don't know it. It's like flirting in the yard in front of Bancroft. I love it.

Did I miss anyone?
