The Reckoning is on the Horizon
It came to me in the shower.....
No, no, I'm not writing anything dirty, but that's when the idea hit me, square between the eyes. And no, nothing literally hit me between the eyes, though my hand did hit my forehead shortly after figuring it out.
Chapter 6 of my novel has been giving me trouble. I, like in the last three drafts, wrote myself into a corner and created a plot inconsistency that could only be fixed by, you guessed it, total rewrite. I have spent the last few days concentrating on this problem (well, when not working on my one of my other projects, now dubbed the Horde), and was unable to come to a solution beside starting Chapter 6 over. And then I figured it out. Change the chapter to include the first half (which worked), and rewrite the second half using an idea from a former draft (which likewise, worked).
The resulting outlining brainstorm did what no other attempt of my outlining has done. I have reached the top of the mountain for my writing of the novel. It's all down hill from here, and it's a straight line. The outline is done, a total of twenty-five chapters, much of which are former ideas revamped and done again. And personally, it rocks.
So, my friends, know this. The book may be done before spring begins. I'll keep ya posted.
