Heheheh

True, but Mantids aren't known for producing human baby quantities of bodily fluids. It won't stink of baby milk either - bonus! :D

OMG I love you now. I thought you guys were going to turn into breeders. T_T

I wish the mantises around here were that pretty. I've only seen basic green ones, nothing with the nifty wings in those pictures.

Us... Breeders? Oh no no no. The closest to "Breeders" we'll get is Kim Deal's band ;)

I'm sure you get plenty of different Mantis species in your parts (oo-er). There are at least 198 genus of Mantis, with numerous species within each genus. Mantid tend to keep their wings hidden unless they have need of them ('mantid' is the plural for 'mantis' - it wasn't a spelling mistake in case you were wondering :D)

I never realized they flew until I scared one at work once. XD Went to sweep outside in the employee smoking area and heard a flutter of wings that I thought was a bird, until I looked in the direction of the sound and saw a mantis doing it's cute little wiggle dance up the wall. *lol*

I've not seen mantid very often in general. I think they hide a lot.

Having giant weird creatures stomping about, with the potential to crush them beneath their booted heels, I'm surprised the mantid keep hidden! :D

Aww, it looks so surprised. :D

(Make sure whatever you get to keep it in is secure though. One of my ex-housemates in Manc had a mantis, and I seem to remember it escaping quite regularly...)

Ours will look surprised that it can't fit houseguests into it's maw :D

Holly has ensured that it's little home is very secure. It's a solid, transparent structure with a very very fine mesh top on it, far too small for it to get through but enough for it to breathe.
