It turns out that I'll be in Tampa, Florida for 2-4 weeks starting in mid-June. My plan is to leave by Monday, June 15th and return back to Richmond around Monday, July 6th. The plans are still up in the air but there is so much FETISHCON work that needs to be prepped for. We still have various slots to fill (fortunately, all the GoH positions are filled, now we just have the V.I.P. lists to work on for everyone important who is attending) --> I will be staying with my bosses, as will Kendra James and the Reverend B. Dangerous. I got to have a long talk with Kendra a few weeks ago when we worked together on some business. The day after, I drove her back to the place she was staying at near Baltimore. Nothing beats a Sunday night drive, and nobody ever has to ask me for a road trip. I am addicted to highways like heroin. Kendra even bought me dinner and dessert, which made me feel like I should put out immediately afterwards. I shamefully admitted that I felt I was "easy." She took it all in diplomatic stride and reminded me she could never date a guy who needs eyeglasses anyway.
Eyes, she reminds us all, are the windows to your soul.
True enough.
That being said... I need to get contacts as soon as humanly possible.
Of course there is the 09' Fetishcon guidebook to work on and the Superheroine "Slave Edition" Showdown 09' and all of the smaller preparations that need to be done. Guest speakers, guest performers, and the celebrities (well, what *passes* for quasi-celebrity in this particular culture I work in.) I am hoping that this year's event will be bigger than previous years, but this recession is making things difficult. Still, bigger or smaller, there is no denying that not having Vesta at the festivities will make things sad for me. Normally I enjoy the role of "minor domo" to help keep things organized in my own small way and coordinate with the major domo on all current operations and events. This year Kara and I will be handling much more than the year previous.
We're doing a followup superheroine-in-peril story with Jenny Czech from the Czech Republic. Our last story featuring Jenny as the Velvet Revolution (assisted by George Perez, who also helped me with the story a small bit) is easily our biggest and most popular story so far in 2009, and will probably be the biggest seller of the last two years if numbers and sales keep appearing favorably. This year we're doing a followup to the story but we're adding in internationally-acclaimed Dutch fetish model Ancilla Tilia to the shoot as well. Kendra says she will help facilitate introductions and initial relations. Ancilla is gorgeous, blonde, buxom, and a very skilled actress with a good grasp of English limited to curse words and come-ons. She's curvy in the way that classic 50's models are curvy, so I cannot wait to shoot her as our superheroine-turned-bodhisttava named "Apotheosis." She and Jenny Czech will make that shoot an international spandex-clad schlockfest, where bustlines are bounteous and linguistic comprehension boils down to games of improvised charades and a laptop with "alta vista's babel fish" preloaded onto it....which was my plan right from the beginning.
Now if I can only get that hot brunette fetish model who dresses in the yellow and black latex catsuit of Silk Spectre. I keep hearing rumors about her, and that she looks fantastic in her perfectly-fitted costume, but nobody in the genre can seem to get her booked for their sites.... That will be my next goal, to hire this mystery woman for the site, and beat everyone else to the punch. Subscriptions will be through the roof, and I'll get my residuals and a membership bonus and get to fly to Europe in style.
The Emily Addison story, "The Last Thirteen Seconds Of Your Life" should be big though as well. I'm not sure how it'll do in secondary sales, but I remain hopeful that primary subscriptions will get us into the territory of my annual BIG bonus. Crossing my fingers and hoping that subscriptions pick up and then stay strong. Emily Addison did a great job, I could not be happier... I'm not so sure the video end will be as big of a hit as the photos. Fortunately, I am much better at editing action video than I am at composing photos. The learning curve was brutal, but at least I had a good teacher here in Richmond. Worth every penny....
In four days.... camping!
