Nu Fone!

Following its rather impromptu dip in the bath, my old mobile was taken to a shop to have its health assessed. Unfortunately I was informed that it was buggered. It had ceased to be, passed on, shuffled off its mortal coil. It was an ex-phone. Unless of course I wanted it repaired - which would cost more than it'd be worth. So I shrugged my shoulders, mildly concerned about all those people's numbers that I don't know off by heart who have no other means of contacting me - which is still an issue I hope to resolve one way or another.

I wasn't over-eager to get a new phone right away, as I'm not the sort of person whose mobile has become an extension of my arm - but my dad spotted an offer that Orange was doing. I told him I'd consider it. He told me it ran out that day, and I said I was ready to consider it in that case. And I did, and got me a nice new phone which arrived yesterday.

And what a lovely little piece of technology it is. 1GB of memory - which can be upgraded to 4GB if desired. Plays MP3s; takes pretty pictures; has a few novel touches. Makes me smile.

This morning my dad saw me going to plug it into the charger and said: "It can't be needing recharged already surely?!"

And I was all: "Of course. I've had it on non-stop listening to music and messing around with the camera and all the different features." (I know there are actually people in the world who, when they buy something, don't touch it until they've perused the manual quite thoroughly. I'm usually the exact opposite of this.)

To which my dad responded with a little smile and said in a baby voice: "Because it's your new toy for you to play around with..." and pinched my cheek.

"That's it exactly... And I particularly enjoy the vibrate function."

This is cause for some photo publishing, methinks.

Me and my brother Jamie.

That boy again.

That's boy's boy.

I think black and white looks good on me.

Getting "artistic"...

"Boo!"

And last but not least, an old picture of our little band...

Have a good one whatever you do. More on my life, musings and various schemes later.
