For Wayne's pre-birthday celebration, he and I and two of his friends decided to get together and play videogames. Sounds slightly lame, I know, but multiplayer GC games are not something to be missed, if you enjoy that sort of thing.

And... I don't think Wayne intended the "gimmick" remark as an insult (at least, not a personal one...) Keep in mind, though, that when he made that remark, you had done the sidestep/throw combo against me about three times in a row. It wasn't that you were doing them too many times, it's that you did them in a row, which made it seem like you had a gimmick.
Though I definately look forward to that rematch on ice. Next time, I'll try to make sure that you can't ring out me so easily. :)
As for d20 Modern... I can understand completely if you can't get the inspiration for such a game. It's definately a different sort of game than D&D, and some of the other rules are... well... just plain different. Once again, I'll have to report back once we try the session out. And if it doesn't get off the ground soon, I'll have to start recruiting the main D&D group to poke Wayne into finishing the map.
And... yes, the original Metroid is bad. I know, it's a "classic" game, but it just seems so much less enjoyable than, say, the original Mario Bros., or even Alfred Chicken. However, I think that I have found another older game that's even worse than Metroid. I'll talk about it in the next post.
Procyon: Exactly. The controls were just... suitable for such an old game. I just couldn't get a good handle on the controls.
And the two of you might just convince me to get Zero Mission. If Metroid Prime ends well, and I get a GBA (the second one, the one with a backlit screen,) then I might just. We'll have to see about that, though.

And I should mention that the major difficulties I have in Mario Kart involve my driving: as the backseat driver/gunner, I do extremely well. It's the turns that get me. >_<;; Though I would enjoy playing in a bit more competitive environment, and if your brother is so much better than you are... Well, it would be a fun experience, methinks. It's just a shame that DD is still $50, or else I'd get a copy for my own use.
