1. lord_morte = 11 + 15 + 18 + 4 + 0 + 13 + 15 + 18 + 20 + 5
2. Add all the numbers together to create a kind of super number = 119
3. Make a note of the first digit of this number (1), then add the digits of the number together = 11
4. Find the post of this number in your LJ. (November 27, 2002. Man, I was horrible back then.)
5. Take the digit you noted in step 3, and count that many words into the post
Number noted was 1; 1st word is "Wow..."
6. Use the resulting word in a Google Image Search, and select a picture from the first page.
7. Post the results for us all to see!
...I'd rather not... *shakes head, and notes that that was a very, very bad idea.*
Anyway, on to the actual "meat and potatoes" section of the LiveJournal... I've decided that I'm going to make this journal a bit more "Shade"-esque (if you don't know who that is, I urge you to check out at least one comic under that name) insofar as I'm going to be recording my thoughts on a few of the current events. As an Extemporaneous Speaker, it might help me out, and besides, when I'm going over the journal this New Year's, it might make me laugh to think of how the crises of today passed without too many problems... if they pass, mind.
As my brother mentioned in
this post, the senators of the USA seem to have it out for us Christians. I wish that there was some rhyme or reason for it, but I can only hope that the senators made that piece of legislation out of an innocent, albeit harmful, desire to "help people," rather than for any other reason. If I'm wrong... I'm almost afraid to consider the consequences thereof.
The "peace" in Iraq is still apparently being fought, and considering that this is an election year, I'm going to bet that attacks are going to intensify shortly. That, and it appears that the country isn't ready to handle its own concerns yet... The fear that I have is that either (A) the situation is going to explode, forcing America to leave Iraq to its fate, or (B) the malcontents will wait and bide their time, seeing as once America leaves, it will be a long time before they come back... if ever.
HMOs won a big case recently, when the Supreme Court decided (unanimously, mind) that patients suing their HMO for complications arising from the latter refusing to pay for doctor-recommended procedures could only sue their HMO in a federal court, with damages capped at what the treatment refused would have cost. The problem that I see with this is that the complications could require even more intensive care, which may not be covered by the HMO, which can then only be sued in a federal court, ad infinatum... While I don't enjoy the sight of everyone and their dog suing insurance companies, there needs to be some sort of limit on this. In America, you only have to do what the government says you have to do (quality-wise,) and this decision seems to be carte blanche for HMOs to offer next to nothing for the money they're receiving. Considering that I'll be joining the workforce soon (I hope,) I wonder if I'm going to be denied the right to sue if anything happens to me... It's definately something to think about.
At any rate, that's all I can think of that's news-worthy. There's quite a bit going on, but most of it deals with reporter opinion, not hard evidence, and therefore, I don't believe that it's worthy of being recorded. Moving on...
I've grabbed several new volumes of manga (such as the first five of Dragon Knights, the first four of Ragnarok, and most of the Tenchi Muyo! series) as well as two new anime series: Saiyuki Reload and Hikaru no Go. I need to create a post describing those, and the other things I've recently been involved in. Just a shame that there's not been too much in "real" life going on: the town festival thing didn't interest me at all, even if did offer "Water Wars" and a donkey race. :p
