Geek Report, 2011, Part Deux.

Hey everyone.

Got a lot taking place this weekend involving various fandoms I like including articles on comics and anime, as well as a couple bits from the pro wrestling world and a sad music-related anniversary to remember. If you're so inclined, check it all out under the cut.

Starting with the world of anime, managed to get myself into another issue of Otaku USA magazine where I covered the DVD releases of Evangelion 2.22: You Can (Not) Advance, 11 Eyes, and the anime version of the Wolverine TV series which was broadcasting in Japan at press time.

As a corresponding article for 11 Eyes, got a review posted on the OUSA website about the remastered release of the 90s shoujo series Magic Knight Rayearth.

Also, posted another piece on the site as a correlation to the release of the Dirty Pair DVD boxsets. So here's a review and retrospective of the classic anime series Crusher Joe.

Meanwhile, in the world of American animation, things are sounding good for the Green Lantern: Emerald Knights animated movie according to this panel report. Hopefully it'll play out better than the Green Lantern: First Flight animated movie or the Batman: Gotham Knights animated film where several directors and styles were used to tell a Batman story. This one features several Green Lanterns though so separation of styles might be much better suited here if this trailer is any indication.

Speaking of which, we've gotten some much better footage shown at WonderCon of this summer's Green Lantern movie. This is what I would've liked to have seen in the previous trailer. hoping for good things here. Official trailer's supposed to be attached to Thor on May 6.

Meanwhile, I'm based in Atlanta and this weekend is Wresltemania hosted by WWE at the Georgia Dome. The weekend's festivities include the Hall of Fame ceremonies inducting The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, Sunny, Drew Carey (WTF?!), Bullet Bob Armstrong, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, and the last two entrants whose matches I've posted in this Report. The first is my favorite tag team ever, The Road Warriors.

... and the madman from the Sudan, Abdullah The Butcher, seen here taking on The American Dream Dusty Rhodes. (Bloody. Not for the squeamish.)

To end things this go around, we celebrate the birthday and passing of one of music's greatest souls, Marvin Gaye. R.I.P., man. We can understand what might make you wanna holler...
