Why does the squid like toast?

[Important questions must be asked!]

How does it eat it?

[...squids have...beaks, right? Wth, Hogwarts?!]

Do they even have digestive tracts?

[Guess where Wolfram is. And guess what he's doing.]

doing homework outside, squid quandaries, feeding lake creatures

If you must know, the muscular stomach is found midpoint of a squid's visceral mass. From there, the bolus moves into the caecum - a long white organ found next to the ovaries or testicles - for digestion.

Why is the digestive tract so close to the reproductive organs?

I suppose it's just the way squid are built. They do have three hearts after all.

Three hearts? Why?

Two branchial hearts feed the gills, and both of them surround the larger systemic heart that pumps blood around the body.

How do you know so much about squids?

I read much when I was younger.

Let's see you be stuck in bed for the rest of your life and try to find something else to do.

Why were you stuck in bed?

Rare disease that kept me sick for much of my younger years. They only came up with a potion for it a couple of years before I came to Hogwarts.

I'm sorry. [Uncomfortable? Yes.] Are you feeling better now?

Don't worry about it. And quite better, or I wouldn't be walking around as I am, would I?

True. But it's a bit hard to see you at the moment.
