zomg. Terminus was amazing.
Panels, Quidditch, Friends, the Ball, Chicago... omegah, it was fantastic.
I'm still on that rush from it, even now, in a hotel in Indiana- I'm about an hour south of Indianapolis, woo- so we just miss rush hour in the morning when we leave at about 9/10am.
Here's a quick run down of what I all did:
Note- Up until Saturday night, we shared the hotel with another conference.... A Gospel Convention. lol. They were chill with me, but I heat that they weren't nice to everyone. I didn't have problems with them, though I heard a few others did. They liked my Lucius costumes alot :P
Arrived on Tuesday, met up with Beth, Monica and a few others in Kitty O'Sheas; the Irish Bar in the hotel. Having Cosmo's with a Lawyer that bought everyone drinks, haha, it was amazing. (Now how long was your fic, michelle? :P)
Wednesday was wrockchicago and getting familiar with the city... Also the last day f being to sleep in until maybe tomorrow morning... Damn those beds were comfy!!! Before that, we took the El and went to a costume shop that we heard about through people, haha. The El was fun and the costume shop was amazing. They still didn't have power after the storms that had hit them the monday before we arrived, and they didn't except it for another few days. zomg. That storm was amazing and we missed it by one day. :-O Tornadoes, hail, everything...
Thursday was the welcoming feast, fun, a whole lot of hugs, and the first trivia round. We won and advanced! Go Grant Park Velociraptors!!! (Typing, Velociraptor, Typing, Velociraptor...etc) :D
Friday was the day for the Malfoy Security Force, muahaha. From 8-5 the third floor was Malfoy Manor, so I just walked up and down it, and sat in a chair- watching over the hall, keeping the tweens in line, and being Badass!Lucius. <3 Had another Trivia Tournament, won that too! Go Velociraptors!!! This was when TwinTeen!Harrys found me and Kirsti... and despite how much we insulted them, they found us and kept coming back, haha.
Saturday was ALL Quidditch. <3 I am/was captain of the Werewolves, defending champs for the Quidditch Cup. After a fantastic day of Quidditch, our team won and crushed 'dem balls- the favorites for the cup, since they play "professionally" and often as a team. So leading the wolves to a crazy Semi-Final Game, where we played the balls, caught the snitch, then it didn't count so we had to catch it again after a VERY rough game, meant that we played the Ninjas in the finals. Playing the ninjas was hard because during the course of the day, we became very good friends- we substituted for each other the entire day in other games and now we had to play against each other! Amy wouldn't let us just tie, haha, so we played one of the best games of Quidditch I've ever had the honor to play. It was fun, but difficult and challenging- having only won by 10 points after they caught the snitch. The Teamwork was fantastic and every time one of us hit each other, there was a round of "omg, I'm sorry!" (Except for "I will CUT you, BITCH! ..Just Kidding!! .... No really. get off." from a previous game. lol). In between Morning and afternoon Quidditch, was my panel with Mel, Genii, and Beth- (wherein we kidnapped Kate because Melody got sick because of Quidditch and couldn't make it.) The Panel was about Loyalty and went very well :) Had huge discussions about loyalty in pure bloods and
Sunday was a morning of panels (I attended a great one on Machiavelli once I realized I could make it after Black!Beth/White!Shacklebolt tried to arrest me... several times.) The Early afternoon brought another win for the Velociraptors, which meant that we'd have another round just before Hope and Jeremy's Wedding, which was at 6. The round was at 5:40 and, honestly, we just wanted it over with like whoa. Kirsti was ahead of schedule (YAY) and we managed to race through it just in time; but because we won, we had another one at like 7 and after winning that, another at like 7:40; and the ball started at 8. Thankfully we lost the latter, but that meant we still had to compete at 8am monday morning.. whoa. FTS. By then, we just wanted to get ready for and get to the ball, not really worry about Trivia.
The Ball was BEAUTIFUL. It was in the Grand Ballroom of the hotel, which I have a ton of pics of, and I'll throw those up another time soon...Themed for the 1920's, the Bonvoyage Ball was, without a doubt, the best ball a con has ever had. <33333!! The Silent Auction was there as well as the normal one, so we stalked the table "longtime" to get the Wolves banner as a gift for Jeremy and I got the Maelstrom (PS- Youse guys owe me $10 for the banner and if you owe Momma Malfoy money for dinner/lunch- payup, yo. ) Went to bed around 2am after much hugging, Quidditch Banner signing, and dancing.
Got up at 6am to get dressed as Lucius for Trivia/Feast at 8am. zomg. I nearly fell asleep like... the entire morning. I was bummed that we were kicked out of trivia because we lost that 8am challenge... yeah, the audience wouldn't STFU and the sound system sucked so we could only hear parts of it.. then again, I was happy because then it was OVER. lol... so my brain would stop hurting.
Terminus ended at like 11am, and after an experience with a security guard and an airhorn in the lobby.... ( YES. A Security officer was using the airhorn system in her megaphone to make us move, rather than telling us to move in the lobby. zomg. Using that in a Hilton? Yeah. WTF. ) Kate, Beth, Genii, Twinkie, and Momma Malfoy, lol, took that double Decker Bus tour around Chicago which was fun, and got off in Little Italy, ate at the Rosebud (ZOMG. Where I had the BEST Alfredo I've ever had.) and saw all of Chicago. It was Amazing. Chicago is so beautiful... I could see myself staying there for longer periods of time as I really enjoyed myself!! Yeah, it was great. After the bus tour, The Gang went to Little Greece for dinner while my mother and I went to Millennium Park, the Fountain, and Walked up and down Michigan Ave again at dusk- to see the Park change from beautiful to Gorgeous as the city lit up.
This morning, my mom and I packed, shoved everything into the car, left the hotel and parked by the Sears Tower. Then we went up to the Skydeck (ZOMG.) and saw all of chicago from the level of the low clouds. <3 Pretttttyyyyyyy. Then we went to an open air market, bought fresh fruit and backed stuff for the drive (omg, amazing cherries!!) picked up our free shirts from Millennium Park, and got to take pictures of both the Public Library and that Library by the Panera near the hotel. <3
We left Chicago around 3pm and are now south of Indianapolis....making a stop at cool caves with a river boat tour in them tomorrow and making it to just north or Atlanta and Maybe World of Coke the day after and then Home and straight on the Ft. Myers in South Florida for a few days of the beach before classes start back up!!! :-D
I'll post up the pictures later you guys, I've got to head off to bed now that it's like... 11 and I got distracted from writing by watching Transformers, lol. I'll try to post again tomorrow night and get at least some pictures up. <3
