This is what I did today.

This is the most i've ever written on here. Enjoy.

So today we were going to play airsoft at a construction site near Brian Wilson's at 2 p.m. We had quite a few people going and it would be the first time we've ever had the chance to play somewhere where we're not supposed to play airsoft. JP calls at about 1:45 saying that Brian checked the site and it turns out that the construction workers were everywhere all over the site. Well? It's Sunday, they're not supposed to be there. Darn.

Plan B: We decided to go to Family Time Fun Park, an abandoned theme park (just like Malibu Grand Prix or Pirate's Cove) I used to go there all the time when I was little and have some pretty good memories of the place. Since then, the place went out of business and a couple of homeless people lived there. I'm not sure if it was before or after the place caught fire though. After that, a couple gangs have used the place as a place to chill and have fun with spraypaint. There is also a WHOLE lot of crap all over the place. We found a copier, the inside of the cash register and a weight-lifting bench. (no clue how that got there.) It's definitely not the place you'd want to be at night.

We took a backroad to the parking lot of a half-vacant office building that was separated from the go-kart track by a thin treeline and a ditch. It was Sunday so no one saw us in our camo with our guns or anything. When we pulled up we heard a bunch of dirtbikes or something. Someone was using the track. We investigated a little further and saw that it was just a bunch of guys racing these really tiny motorcycles on the track. We played it safe and went over to talk to them and explain what we were doing and that we didn't want any trouble. Basically we just wanted them to know we were there so they wouldn't freak out when a bunch of guys in camo with real-looking guns was crawling through the brush. We took off our jackets and brought justin's gun over to show them what it was. Turns out that they were just a bunch of rednecks enjoying their Sunday at the abandoned theme park racing these tiny motorcycles and getting drunk at the same time. It couldn't have been much better for us. We all felt like joining them in the shade after meeting them. It looked pretty comfortable.

We brought all of our gear to a little shed behind a dirt mound. We put all of our crap in there so in case we wanted to use the rest of the place as playing area we wouldn't have to worry about screwing stuff up. The shed had a coffin behind it. Don't believe me? None of us could think of a legitimate reason as to why it was there so I think we just kind of left it alone. At least it was empty.

We got all geared up and went to go check out the area. There is a WHOLE lot of crap all over the place. We found a copier, the inside of the cash register and a weight-lifting bench. (no clue how that got there.) It was awesome until about 30-40 minutes into the tour. After we got to the sweet bridge thing above the putt putt house, Justin upset a bunch of bees which sent everyone into a panic. Justin got stung a million times and I think one got Drake in the lip. That was a real bummer because that would have been the best place to play, right there. (the bees came from the exact spot I was standing in moments after I took this picture.

After that, everyone wanted to play a game so we all gathered just outside the Jurrassic Park hut to pick teams. It was me, Trevor, and Drake vs. Nate, JP, and Brian. (Daniel went to go hang with the rednecks and Justin was still checking out his bee stings.) We were about to start when Trevor's gun started making ugly noises. It was jammed and no one had a jam rod. We spent a while trying to unjam it and then we just went back over to the rednecks to get daniel and/or possibly see if they had anything that could unjam the barrel. I wasn't paying attention to that particular situation because I was watching some kids skateboarding. One of them was someone I've seen many times before at the skatepark when I used to bike. He let me get a video of him doing a 180 off a little ledge onto the track. (let me know if you want to see it. it's cool.) Just before we left, he jumped completely over a cement block and landed into a manual (wheelie) and held it all of the way across the parkinglot, about 50-75 feet. I wish I had a video of him doing that. It was amazing. Oh, and this kid looked like he was in like 8th or 9th grade. (The skateboarders had no relation to the rednecks either. They just came to skate.)

Then we went home and unjammed Trevor's gun.

We need to get a LOT of people together and play here sometime. Let me know how next sunday looks. This place is probably better than georgetown. And it's free, and it's 2 minutes away from my house.

Oh, and if you haven't seen Drake's new ride- check it out. It's pretty efin sweet. I like it.

Trevor and Drake, let me know if I left anything out. The rest of the pictures can be found here.

Adios.
