“Eibhlin’s been reading every damn book on climatology and wildlife she can since Cora invited us out here.” The kid spent half the train ride reassuring a very patient Claudius he wasn’t going to die in a terrifying wind storm while wearing that little glint in her eye that said she hoped they could maybe come close, just for the science.

LOLs You know this is a glint the two of them recognize immediately.

Eibhlin’s fingers dig so hard into Claudius’ arm she’s gotta be leaving marks, but the kid stays stoic and stares up into the sky, saying nothing. “Baby goats,” Eibhlin whispers, like she’s sending a prayer to the gods. “I need to see them. It is of the utmost importance.”

For the science obviously. (But seriously poor D is exhibiting saint-like patience here)
