I love all the Two Victor interactions in this!

Lyme being like "oh wait, there are people who LIKE wearing heels and a dress?" was awesome (because I still find this hard to believe), and Callista being just-short-of-creepy and Emory and Brutus going survival-camping are wonderful, and Brutus and Lyme drunk-fighting is totally my happy place.

I forget--where does Callista come in the mentor family tree?

Callista is in a separate branch entirely (her mentor was Hera, whose mentor was ...... either Ronan in his last batch or one of the first that was mentored by one of Ronan's kids), but she and Nero won back-to-back and he had a crush on her so they're friends now. Plus she's the one who helps Lyme out with her sex issues 'cause Nero was like WHAT DO?! about those. Later on she's one of the only few who can make Enobaria behave.

Gotcha.

I kind of want stories about Callista and Lyme because they would be TERRIFYING in combination, holy crap.

I have a huge long thing in my head about Lyme and her sex issues and Callista being like omg little girl BDSM is not 'wait I get to hurt/have power over men? AWESOME' after she lends Lyme one of her boys and he comes back like 'yeah you might want to talk to her about a few things......'

I don't actually want to write Callista's Guide to Safe, Sane and Consensual: Victors with Issues Edition though, I mean seriously. /o\

Yeeeeeah, a Callista's guide to BDSM seems like it'd probably be a little much.

It's probably a good thing Lyme has someone to sit her down and explain things--and Callista's someone who she would actually listen to.

Lyme thought she'd hit the jackpot -- a way to have sex with men without having to cater to their wants or needs or whims, with the bonus that she gets to hurt them and they like it? Yes please! Then Callista starts talking about the importance of consent and permission and aftercare and all this crap that sounds like "feelings" and "doing what the guy wants, AGAIN" and bb Lyme was like THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU MADE IT OUT TO BE AT ALL >>>>>>(

(She gets it, though, and once she does it goes a lot better. But hoo boy.)

(this is the point where I'm like yes okay these characters are not Collins' anymore, are they .....)

Yeah, I can see how that'd be complicated...

(and whatever, Collins forgot about Lyme 5 minutes after writing her one and only scene, I think you can totally claim her. I don't even bother writing Collins characters so nobody can tell me I'm doing it wrong)

Callista told her that sex is not therapy, and if she wants to hurt someone she should take a knife to some thug in an alley. (Nero did not exactly appreciate this) Lyme was like ...... hrmph. Her compromise is once she learns how to do it safely she takes out the worst of her rages on the Capitol boys, who like their savage D2 lady to call them names and treat them rough. Plus then she gets sponsor money out of them while she's petting their hair, so that's her win/win.

(loooooool yes exactly, and other people write canon characters who get full out textual representation with their own crazy headcanon so FIGHT ME, INTERNET)

OMG I love the "it's not okay to actually nonconsensually hurt people during sex, hurt random strangers instead" Callista-morality. But it figures Lyme would find a way to make it work.

(I mean yeah, some things I see I have to just ?????? because it makes no sense and some i'm like >( because it's clueless and offensive, so the internet really has no place to talk)

ISN'T IT THE BEST?! "No if you're having sex he really should enjoy himself, but you can totally knife some scumbag as long as he doesn't stop breathing" is perfect Victor-logic.

(Sometimes I trawl AO3 and send summaries to people like ?????!)

Victor logic is a pretty special kind of logic, gotta say.

(It's so hard to find good THG fic on AO3, so much of it is SO BAD. Like, why would anyone want to read a coffee shop AU? Ever? Or worse, WRITE one? ???)
