This was so bittersweet yet so gorgeous - you could just feel the agony of being in love, and losing that love, pouring off this chapter. Absolutely fantastic!
“Did we love each other?” Ianto asked after a moment. “The diary doesn’t say.”
“I don’t know,” Jack replied honestly.
Oh my heart! That was such a beautiful, aching ending to this fantastic story. I loved that there was no magical solution to all of this, the way it ended leaving people a bit more broken and damaged - oh, Tosh - and the way that John dealt with Adam and then just left was very nicely handled.
I don't really know what else to say, other than I've enjoyed this immensely, was delighted to see you post this today, and thanks so much for the ride!
Awww what a great ending. Still feel bad for John though and I know Jack's lying- they had something, even if it wasn't love- but obviously he wouldn't tell John that. Adam got what was coming to him (even if he might not be dead) everyone's broken, it's not a happy ending, but there is hope and a chance to rebuild. Loved it.

I'm glad you liked John's ending. I had the hardest time deciding what to do with him.

Don't worry, Jack was completely (well mostly) lying. I really, sort of, wish John could have stayed around.
And I'm glad the not-quite-happy ending worked.
