 while you were sleeping, i was turning the dials
and i walled up your kingdom with radio wires
and the bells of the choir came in low and rumbling;
oh, you should've heard them

today was my first day waking up knowing i had absolutely nothing i was supposed to be doing except thoroughly enjoying myself in the lovely spring weather here in washington
it was GREAT. chandula came into town last night, and this morning, we wandered around embassy row with allie, who is also visiting. we ate salads at sweetgreen, ran into tamsin green and stephen rintoul, lisa gabor and her beau (and his mother), and sunned ourselves at dupont circle and on the georgetown waterfront
and had coffee;
then my ipod and i wandered down to the national mall to reflect in front of the Reflecting Pool. he and i and my spring-semester journal spent a nice few hours together until my legs fell asleep and i had to wake them up with promises of walking.

it was really lovely. i am so happy
