Because I'm tired of talking about nonrenewal...
I shall talk about something that makes me happy: My students. They are hilarious. They say things that crack me up every day. Today was Haiku Day, and I shall have to post some of their haikus. Not now, though, because I forgot to bring them home. Just know that they are funny and cute.
What I really want to talk about is Student of the Month assembly. Each month each teacher selects two students and presents them with an award at the assembly. The student body is usually pretty subdued because this assembly eats into their normal lunch time. Each teacher is called up one at a time, and there is scattered applause.
This time was a little different. When I was called up, nearly the entire student body erupted into applause and cheers.
I nearly cried.
