Me: Guess what I'm doing Saturday afternoon?
Mom: Um, I don't know.
Me: You'll never guess!
Mom: Uh, okay. Uh, you're getting married?
Me: [laughter] No, but almost!
Jeanette: [in the background] "Almost"?
Me: My friend asked me to go ring shopping with him for his girlfriend!
All: [Shrieking all around]
Knowing that he's buying a ring is impossible, because no one knows yet except for me, and I am dying! As Jeanette used to say, "I'm a bad secret teller!" but I really wanna talk about this one.
Mom: Um, I don't know.
Me: You'll never guess!
Mom: Uh, okay. Uh, you're getting married?
Me: [laughter] No, but almost!
Jeanette: [in the background] "Almost"?
