Okay, so when the commentators are dissing on a competitor's shoelaces, it's time to shut up. Especially when you ended your skating career so long ago that it was impressive to land a double axel, Dick.
But I love the idea of beautiful, touching performances, as seen from the Italian and Turkish skaters. They seemed just so happy with what they had done, not at all worried with standing, but the pure joy of making it here and competing. That should be what it is all about. But I'm idealistic; what can I say?
And can I say that I am totally surprised by my slight hope that Sasha Cohen does really well? I mean, I have been one of her biggest detractors, hoping that Michelle Kwan would beat the spangles off her, but I guess that is what happens when you are totally drunk on Olympics.
Another thing: Friedrick and Fluff are so digging the Olympics right now. You will just have to wait until I tell you how well they did to find out. Ha ha! Take that, Jeanette!
